Speaking of colors, last fall it was sage green. This year the season seems to be the color brown. Brown is everywhere - suede jackets, pin-striped trousers, skirts and scarves. Add to that other fall color spots as mentioned above, soft purple, fuchsia, orange, etc. and you have the perfect Fall 2005 looks. Here's a quick preview of fall fashion this year for those wishing to update their wardrobes.
The Look: Old World inspired. Think elegant sepiaphotographs of the 1940s and '50s. Casual but sophisticated.
The trends:
Tweed - skirts, pants (full length and cut) and brown shorts in plaid or pinstripes. Also making a debut in handsome gauchos are knitted jersey. Very comfortable but casual cool.
- Shirts in floral prints in colors fall mellow. Nothing too excessive.
- Sweaters solid color (no prints Argyle diamond like last year). And thanks to Martha Stewart, who wore one on his journey back homeprison poncho! Stick to solid colors, experimenting with designs can get tricky.
- Knee high boots (anyone can take these off).
- Scarves Animal print, faux fur collars (so cold, I just love them)
- Large hobo bags (must have, anyway). Moreover, the structure is really - suede, metal, houndstooth prints out something extraordinary.
- Kurtis Indian-style tunics of silk or large floral prints in blocks of autumn colors.
- Embellished Belt - with bows, ribbons, sequins, etc.
- Hats Fedora (if you like a touch of elegance). Some celebrities are also wearing big floppy suede hats as well.
- Hair - clean, combed, style, tied back, you get the picture.
